Reviews
Its a long drive from Ankara, however its a nice place to reconnect with nature and learn about the old times.
You also get to feed the goats and play with them. They teach you how houses were built and how laundry was done and so on.
We also got to pick and eat pistachios
We came to visit the museum and wanted to park for the night before our visit and lunch the next day but were told we would have to pay 250tl to park on the street parking which we felt was to much as it was not even a car park just on the side of the road so we left.
Loved it
Well thought out and spotlessly clean. A guide for the museum tour is given. He tells you about houses in different geographies of Anatolia with examples. Workshops and accommodation available
It was a very quiet environment, it was built one-to-one and we had the opportunity to see the bay houses in different regions. It is open to visitors, but personal information seemed insufficient, as if it could be better in this regard. Also, children are brought by their schools to see the life of the bay. Maybe this can be provided for those who want to stay individually. When we asked, we were told that this was not the case. In terms of transportation, it is a small distance on the road and it was not difficult to find it.
Today, on our weekend trip with the children, the guide came to us and even though we said that we had come before and did not want publicity, he did not leave us and disturbed us very much by following us. There are not many activities to do inside for the fee given anyway. In the laundry area, the children filled the tin bucket with water and warned the children sternly not to damage the belongings. What can wear out of the tin bucket 5 year old children. Necessary warning should be given to the employees. I do not recommend it to those who are thinking of going.
Families with children will have the opportunity to show their children a small slice of village life.
It is a very well-kept, clean and natural museum.
A decent environment for those who miss village life and nature, with carefully prepared activities especially for primary school children.
